With her publications, El Pintor provided a special bright spot in the further dark war years. The publications of this unnamed Spanish painter are nowadays regarded as forerunners of the modern, 'artistic' children's book. They were printed in large numbers, but only a few copies of some have survived and have become valuable collectibles.
