lithograph by Emil Kotrba. Numbered and signed. The work is of good quality. He was born on February 22, 1912 in Znojmo and died on February 21, 1983 in Prague. Academic painter and graphic artist.
Painter and graphic artist, graduated from the applied arts school in Brno (pupil of P. Dillingra) and the Academy in Prague (prof. TF Šimon). He was named the Academy's best student (1963). While studying in Brno, he attended the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, where he studied animal anatomy. In 1969, the Veterinary College awarded him the Pešin Medal, which he received for outstanding work, especially in the field of animals. In the 60s and 70s he was considered the world's best horse painter. He understood them not only as noble animals, but above all as faithful friends and helpers of man. He made the horse a symbol to celebrate the multifaceted harmony of nature and life. He was also involved in graphics. Author of hundreds of ex-libris. He mainly worked with the technique of wood engraving and lithography. He was honored three times with the creation of our stamps.
