Floris Verster (1861-1927) is een van de meest ondergewaardeerde schilders van de late Haagse School-beweging.
Hij werd geboren in Leiden in een artistiek gezin en kreeg tekenlessen van George Breitner (1857-1923) voordat hij naar de Koninklijke Academie voor Beeldende Kunst in Den Haag ging. Verster staat bekend om zijn landschappen, portretten en stillevens,
