Frans Everbag werd in 1877 in Amsterdam geboren en met enkele onderbrekingen woonde en werkte hij zijn hele leven in deze stad. Hij maakte meestal stadsgezichten, bloemstillevens en dieren in een gevoelig impressionistische stijl. Everbag experimenteerde ook met allerlei druktechnieken en hij wordt wel gerekend tot de belangrijkste etsers en lithografen van de eerste helft van de 20e eeuw. Met grote regelmaat nam hij deel aan de exposities van Arti et Amicitiae in Amsterdam en in 1939 maakte hij met zijn werk deel uit van de tentoonstelling ‘Onze Kunst van Heden’ in het Rijksmuseum.
