Fred Koot (1927-2000) was a graphic artist and lecturer at the Utrecht Academy of Fine Arts, among others. He created etchings and lithographs. In 1954, his work was acquired by the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam, followed by the Gemeentemuseum Den Haag and the Centraal Museum in Utrecht. The multicolor lithographs often depict landscapes in Asian countries. Older work has a surreal and more abstract content. Fred Koot sometimes printed in more than twenty runs per print.
