The painter Gerard Ernens showed his talent at an early age and developed as a painter with his own unique style. At an early age he came into contact with the famous painter J. Bevort. He then worked for some time with the interior and church painter Jan Jumelet. Ernens became especially famous for his colorful, somewhat suggestive and relief-like landscapes and floral compositions. He has been a painter with the palette knife from the very beginning. His paintings have a slightly impressionistic slant and are still clearly recognizable.
