Lively scene by Dutch artist Gerti Bierendbroodspot (1940). Her oeuvre is strongly inspired by the archaeological remains of ancient worlds. The work is made in different techniques such as oil paint, gouache and pencil on panel.
Bierenbroodpsot studied at the Amsterdam School of the Arts and the Rijksakademie of Visual Arts in Amsterdam. She maintained close contacts with Stedelijk museum director Willem Sandberg and the CoBrA group. Bierenbroodspot has several solo exhibitions to her name, both at home and abroad. She has exhibited in Amsterdam, Beirut, New York, Amman and Brussels, among others.

The work is in good condition. Mainly on the left side, there is quite a bit of crackle in the red and black parts, as can be seen in the photos. The paint has also completely come off in some places. There are some spots on the right side of the composition. (See photos)
