Romijn was traditionally trained as an architect, but started sculpting and painting in the middle of the last century. He belonged to the Window Group , together with artists Louis van Roode and Piet Roovers. He also later joined the Liga Nieuwe Beelden. His sculptures can often be found in the public space of various Dutch cities.
