The drawing was purchased by my late father from Hedwige himself. Hedwige's mother was a customer at my father's optician's shop in Wassenaar, and Hedwige studied at the Art Academy in the early 1990s. During that period, my father had already purchased several of Hedwige's works. When Hedwige arrived with these "sunglasses" in 2006, it was clear he would take over this drawing.
The drawing is in excellent condition, except for one tear at the bottom. I hadn't noticed this until I removed the drawing from the frame to take some photos of the back. In other words, the tear isn't noticeable.
The drawing has always been in the frame for as long as I can remember, so the tear has probably been there since 2006/2007.
