Helen van der Deen (1946) heeft haar opleiding gevolgd aan de Kunstacademie Minerva te Groningen. Zij maakt olieverven op linnen en papier en zeefdrukken. Het werk van deze Groningse kunstenaar valt op door het gebruik van heldere en stralende kleuren. Haar abstracte olieverven zijn echte kleurbronnen. Het werk van Heleen is sterk geïnspireerd door natuur en landschap. Deze ervaring met de natuur weet zij in haar werk weer te geven door “ slechts “ kleuren en vormen te schilderen die als een verfrissende, plezierige waterval over de toeschouwer komen.
