Helma Finze - Still life with dead bird

Helma Finze (1942-2023), born in Bremen and living in the Netherlands (Delft and Gasteren) from 1977, was active as a visual artist for half a century, most of the time as a painter. She usually worked in acrylic paint on canvas, paper and cardboard, but also left etchings, gouaches, watercolors and drawings. Portraits and still lifes were her favorite subjects. Characteristic of her style are strong colors and shapes in powerful, idiosyncratic compositions. her work shows pleasure in the beautiful things in life, but vanitas motifs also regularly appear.
