Geboren Nieuwer Amstel 1875 – overleden Soest 1964am 1919 – 1921, Hilversum 1921 – 1926. Daarna Hendrik Weegewijs, werd op 7 januari 1875 te Nieuwer-Amstel (thans Amstelveen) geboren. Hij was leerling van de tekenschool voor Kunstambachten en van de Rijkskunstnijverheidsschool. Tussen 1896-1898 volgde hij lessen aande Rijksakademie o.l.v. A. Allebe, C.L. Dake, F.K.A.C. Leenhoff en N. van der Waay. Hij schilderde, aquarelleerde, tekende en etste o.a. landschappen, dorpsgezichten, figuren en stilllevens.
Hij was lid van 'Arti et Amicitiae' te Amsterdam.n Blaricum, dan Edam tot 1939, Naarden 1939 – 1940 en tenslotte in Soest van 1940 – 1964. Zijn onderwerpen waren vnl. dorps- en heidegezichten, stillevens en figuren. Hij wordt genoemd in diverse lexicons.
