Huibert Van Dorp werd geboren in 1949 en werd voornamelijk geïnspireerd door de opgroeiende jaren zestig. Historisch gezien in de context van de Koude Oorlog, symboliseerden de jaren zestig een extreem invloedrijk tijdperk dat een groot aantal verstoringen veroorzaakte en de orde van alles in twijfel trok. In Europa zouden The Iron Curtain en de Berlijnse muur permanent mensen en overtuigingen markeren, terwijl in de VS gebeurtenissen zoals de Cubaanse rakettencrisis en de oorlog in Vietnam voor altijd toekomstige generaties zouden beïnvloeden.
