Rizzi's work often focuses on his hometown of New York and its residents. The pictures are mostly of almost childishly naïve simplicity and in very bright colors and radiate happiness, urban joie de vivre and optimism.
In the three-dimensional construction technique that is characteristic of him, the picture elements of the foreground are cut out of a duplicate of the picture that serves as the background and placed in a second picture plane using bridges made of foam or similar materials.
