Originele gravure uit het boek “Spiegel van het menselyk bedryf” uitgegeven in 1694 door Jan Luyken samen met zijn zoon Casper Luyken.
Het boek beschrijft het werk van honderd ambachten in Amsterdam tijdens de Gouden Eeuw. Het is een zogenaamd emblemataboek in de traditie van Jacob Cats. Een emblema is een kleine afbeelding die een betekenis in zich heeft, met daarbij een korte kernachtige spreuk of een kort gedicht.
U bent vast en zeker ooit een kopie tegengekomen van één van deze afbeeldingen. Tijd om een origineel aan te schaffen?
