Biografie: Jan Van Hest
Hest, Johannes Hendricus Adrianus (Jan) van; 05.02.1915, Tilburg. Beroep bouwkundig tekenaar, schilder, tekenaar en beeldhouwer.
Werkte vooral met steen en olieverf. Stijlabstract en na 1967 geometrisch abstract Verbleef in Middelburg, Parijs, Tilburg en Eindhoven vanaf 1963. Prijzen en beurzen: Aanmoedigingsprijs Gemeente Eindhoven, Prijs van de stad Florence, Artistieke Prijs van Burgemeester Kolfschoten 1947, Landjuweel Eindhoven1960, Cultuurprijs Beek (L) en BIC-prijs 1968. Opleiding: Stichting Katholieke Leergangen Tilburg (vrij tekenen). Leerling van Harry Boelaers (beeldhouwen) en Jan Sluijters (schilderen). Docent van o.a. Louis Wouters 1970. Ingeschreven bij Beeldende kunstafdeling - de Kempen.
