Jeanne Wesselius is a Dutch painter and poet, born in Leiden in 1931. Since 1953 she has lived and worked in the Amsterdam Rivierenbuurt. As a painter she was guided by Anton Rovers, visual artist in Amsterdam. Jeanne became a member of the Sint Lucas artists' association (1979). Later she joined the Kunstenaarskollektief Segment and a few years later became a member of De Onhoudenen (1992). Jeanne has a series of group and solo exhibitions to her name. Her work can be found in Dutch and foreign collections. As a poet she participated in several poetry workshops and poet festivals. She won the Strellus Poetry Prize 2000 and the Plantage Poetry Prize 2002.
