A very nice graphic by Jochen Kublik
JOCHEN KUBLIK (* 1962 -)
Painter and draftsman Jochen Kublik was born in Bottrop in 1962. He graduated from high school in Oelde, Westphalia, and subsequently studied at the University of Applied Sciences for Design in Münster. His study trips took him to Italy, particularly Tuscany. The Aldegrever Society in Münster awarded him a grant in 1988 to work in Oslo. Further grants followed. In 2000, he worked as a research assistant at the University of Applied Sciences for Design in Münster. In his work, Jochen Kublik combines realistic, detailed color drawings with surrealist motifs. Still-life elements reminiscent of plant portraits from earlier eras form a synthesis with books or houses. Dreamworlds between magic and poetry emerge, encouraging the viewer to explore the image in depth. Kublik has had a number of exhibitions, and four books about his work have been published to date.
