Beautiful etching on paper of the Martini Church in Groningen, seen from the Grote Markt.
Signed in pencil by the artist, Johan D Scherft.
The etching itself as well as the passepartout, the narrow wooden frame and the anti-reflective glass are still in very good condition. Only the paper on the back of the frame shows visible discolouration and minor damage.
The etching has always been in the possession of my Groningen father, and has traveled half the world with him.
The proceeds from the sale go to the Help to Help Foundation for orphans in Zimbabwe.
