The work was exhibited from November 26, 2020 to January 5, 2021 in the Pulchri Studio in The Hague.

Frames: Damage to frames is not described. If a work is framed behind glass and the glass is broken, this will be stated. Reflection may be visible in photos of framed works.

Shipping/collection:

When purchased, the work can be picked up in 's-Gravenzande (near The Hague (Scheveningen), Rotterdam and Delft and 5 minutes from the beach). The collection period, if paid in advance, is very long, in other words the buyer can collect the work weeks or even months later and, if possible, combine it with a visit to one of the above-mentioned cities or the beach. The work can also be sent via Postnl. Our shipping days are Tuesday and Thursday.

Johan van den Berg received his education at the Vrije Academie in The Hague. There he was a student of Kees Andrea and Nol Kroes, and he also took private painting lessons with A. Slootweg. He received, among others, the Jacob Maris Youth Prize in 1966, the Jacob Hartog Prize in 1971, the Europe Prize for Painting, the bronze medal of the city of Ostend in 1971 and the Van Ommeren-de Voogt Prize in 2000. Johan van den Berg worked as a painter, draftsman and graphic artist, often non-figurative. His work is included in many private collections in the Netherlands, Canada, New Zealand, Belgium, Switzerland and Germany. Work is also owned by the Art Museum in The Hague, the Stedelijk Museum Schiedam, the National Collection and the private collection of Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrix.

In addition to being a visual artist, Johan van den Berg was also a poet. At least 10 collections of poems have been published by him. He regularly published in the literary magazines Kentering, Dimensie Nieuw Vlaams Tijdschrift, Argus, Schoon Schip and De Tweede Ronde. In 1972 he organized and participated in the first Hague Poetry Night. In the 1980s, he organized more such poetry events in collaboration with others, such as Poet in the House, Poetry in Pepijn, Poetry in the Trojan Horse and a Poetry/Video reading in Kapel de Peperbus in Leidschendam. Johan van den Berg was a member of Pulchri Studio from 1970-2019.
