Cornelis Everhardus (Kees) Heynsius (Schoonhoven, April 29, 1890 – Amsterdam, May 15, 1981) was a Dutch painter who worked in the vein of Amsterdam impressionism.

Heynsius lived and worked in The Hague, Laren and Amsterdam, among other places. He received his training as a painter at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague. He painted, drew and watercolored in the style of Amsterdam Impressionism. His painting style was strongly influenced by the works of Paul Cézanne and Maurice de Vlaminck. His favorite subjects were landscapes, city and village views, horses and still lifes with flowers. Particularly later in his career, he focused on the southern French landscape of Provence.

Heynsius was a member of the artists' society Arti et Amicitiae in Amsterdam and of the art societies "De Sphinx" and "Amicitiae" in Leiden, Pulchri Studio and the Hollandse Kunstskring in The Hague. Heynsius was also the treasurer of the artists' association De Onvangenen in Amsterdam.

In the latter position, Heynsius tried to mediate in the riot that broke out in 1933 when the director of the Stedelijk Museum, David Röell, had two paintings by members of De Independenten removed from the spring exhibition with the approval of the municipal council. This happened because they would be contrary to good taste and morals. It concerned the canvases "De Afternoon" by Joop Moesman and "Selig sind die Armen" by Horst Strempel. Despite the efforts of treasurer Heynsius, the refusal was adhered to and the association decided to close the exhibition.
    Awards and exhibitions
Heynsius received the Gold Médaille (1938) and the Arti Médaille (1962). Heynsius took part in various (solo and group) exhibitions (including in The Hague, Laren, Amsterdam and St. Dié). In 1938 a retrospective about him was organized in Arti et Amicitiae. In 1950 an anniversary exhibition followed in the Kunstzaal Hamdorff in Laren. Heynsius' work is included in various private, corporate and government collections, including the collection of the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, the Gemeentemuseum The Hague and the Netherlands Institute for Cultural Heritage.
