Information about the artist: Klaas Pijlman, born 05-01-1917 in Amsterdam and died 18-07-2007 in Amsterdam, illustrator, watercolorist, draftsman, painter, linocutter and teacher. -Education: Institute for Applied Arts Education (Amsterdam). He was the son of Fetze Pijlman (1882-1965), composer of church music and owner of music publisher 'De Harp', and Maria Johanna Stoffels (1875-1953), seamstress. The Christian faith was a guideline and source of inspiration for Klaas Pijlman. He illustrated religious books by, among others, Miss G. (Gesina) Ingwersen. He also illustrated children's books by the writer K. (Klaas) Norel. He was a drawing teacher at various pedagogical academies in Amsterdam, including the Gereformeerde Kweekschool (GKS).
