Kumi Suagi, Japanse schilder en grafisch kunstenaar, geboren 13 maart 1919 te Kobe, gestorven 14 mei 1996 te Kobe.
Kumi Sugai behoorde tot de eerste groep baanbrekende Japanse kunstenaars die Westerse schilderstijlen overnam en ze in het buitenland toepaste, voornamelijk in Parijs en New York. Sugai's eerste tentoongestelde schilderij in Parijs trok directe aandacht en sindsdien bleef hij zijn vaardigheid onderzoeken door zijn stijlen drastisch te veranderen tot aan zijn dood in 1996.
