Marianne Aulman (1956) heeft haar opleiding genoten aan de Koninklijke Akademie voor Beeldende Kunsten in Den Haag.
Voor Marianne Aulman vormt de bouwkunst van oude beschavingen de bron van inspiratie. Naast een aantal reizen naar Griekenland en Italie, heeft zij de afgelopen jaren o.a. ook Mexico, Egypte en India bezocht. Elementen uit deze landen en dan met name de klassieke bouwstijlen werden verwerkt in litho's en schilderijen.Zij is het meest gefascineerd door wat de tand des tijds doet met de bouwwerken en de effecten van de speling van het licht.
