Het schilderij werd gekocht bij Sotheby's op CBK Amsterdam, 5-11-2016 op Museumnacht veiling.
In 1972 maakt Max Schreuder(Pilawski)voor het eerst aanspraak op de speciale regeling die er voor kunstenaars is in Nederland. De BKR (Beeldende Kunstenaars Regeling) of ook wel contraprestatie genoemd. Het zijn vooral aquarellen die van hem gekocht worden. Ze dragen de titels: Waiting, Hunting Game, Great Pretender, Six leggs, Fant en Primitive live. Hij signeert ze met de naam Pilawski. Waarschijnlijk omdat hij een grote bewonderaar is van Kandinsky.
Hij schrijft zich in Campanet, een piepklein dorp midden op het eiland Mallorca, in als pintor: schilder. Tot 1983 verkoopt hij jaarlijks een aantal werken aan de BKR. Minstens 75 werken komen op die manier in ‘staatsbezit’ en worden over verschillende gebouwen verspreid.
