Miloš Balgavý (born 1955 in Bratislava, Czechoslovakia) found his way into glass after training as a ceramist. From 1978 to 1984 he studied at the University of Fine Arts in Bratislava in the Department of Glass in Architecture under Václav Cigler and Askold Žáčko. Balgavý's glass works are based on the tradition of the Cigler School with a focus on beautiful geometric shapes and smooth surfaces.
