Nico Vrielink was born in 1958 in the Netherlands. Already at a young age he feels attracted to an artistic career. His parents enroll him at the Academy of Fine Arts in Arendonk and later at the Hogeschool voor Beeldende Kunsten in Eindhoven.

With his artist diploma in his pocket, he leaves for Singapore where he meets Jeane. That meeting would be a real turning point in his life. Since then, Jeane has been a common thread running through the artist's work.

Nico Vrielink works according to the academic method, ie from dark to bright. In addition to his Jeane, another theme is particularly close to his heart: Eastern mysticism, a serene reproduction of the silence and of the inner. Jeane, too, is gradually portrayed in a more serene and reserved manner, and the sets are also increasingly imbued with mysticism.
