Olieverfschilderij op doek, in zeer goede staat. Links onderaan
gesigneerd door de kunstenaar. Afmetingen doek 50 x 60cm, met kader 62 x 72cm.

Nicolas Vulpen Wiertz werd in 1915 in Hilversum geboren. Zijn artistieke talent
zat in zijn genen (zijn overgrootvader was Antoine Wiertz, bekend belgisch
schilder die een museum naar zich vernoemd kreeg in Brussel) . Zijn opleiding
kreeg o.a. aan de Academie voor Beeldende Kunsten in Amsterdam. Was lid van de
Gooise Schildersvereniging waar ook Jan Korthals en Jan Rijlaarsdam deel van
uitmaakten. Hij maakte veel reizen en zijn werken werden daarom wereldwijd
verkocht , ook aan beroemdheden zoals Liz Taylor en Richard Burton. Door de
jaren heen zijn er diverse exposities van zijn werk geweest, waaronder in het
Rijksmuseum te Amsterdam. Hij overleed in 1991 in Aubeterre (Dordogne) .
