Een Nana, de zogeheten beelden van De Saint Phalle, is altijd vrouwenwerk. Stof en wol worden gemonteerd op een soepel geraamte. Voor het ogenblik vermaken de Nana's zich prima: ze maken grote sprongen, ze maken een pirouette, zetten hun haren in de krulspelden, et cetera.
Niki de Saint Phalle toont het publiek haar eigen menaden en bacchanten, haar Nana's: vrij, eeuwig en onverschillig. Denk alleen niet dat ze ongevaarlijk zijn. Maagd (of niet) en dwaas zullen zij er tot het einde van de mensheid zijn, men spreekt immers altijd van het eeuwige vrouwelijke.
Deze catalogus bevat een inleiding op de tentoonstelling, een biografie van de kunstenaar en foto's van de tentoongestelde werken.
De teksten zijn zowel in het Nederlands als Frans.
