Een stemmig werk van deze Belgische kunstenaar uit Hasselt.
Bovendien fraai bewaard gebleven getuige de frisse en
sprekende kleuren. Het werk is in goede staat. De lijst vertoont
wat beschadigingen. Is met wat modelklei en gips eventueel
zelf te restaureren. Afmetingen van de aquarel zelf zijn
27 / 37 cm. Originele oude lijst.
Bamps was zowel tekenaar als schilder en heeft het zichzelf
aanvankelijk aangeleerd. Hij kreeg wel steun en raad van Henri
Cassiers. De kunstenaar had een voorkeur voor Kempische
landschappen en (Hasseltse) stadsgezichten. Vond zijn onder-
werpen later ook in de Westhoek.
Was mogelijk de oprichter van de Kring "De Heecrabbers" in
Limburg. Zijn loopbaan verliep aan de Rechtbank van Eerste
Aanleg te Hasselt waar hij opeenvolgend rechter, onderzoeks-
rechter en voorzitter werd. Vermeld in het Lexicon van West-
vlaamse beeldende kunstenaars VI. BAS II. (Bron Paul Piron)
