Schilder, collagist, beeldhouwer en fotograaf Peter Roland Spaans (1953, Weesp) volgde zijn opleiding aan de Academie voor Kunst en Vormgeving in Den Bosch (1975 - 1977) en aan de Academie voor Beeldende Kunsten te Arnhem (1979 - 1981). Spaans werkte in New York en woont en werkt nu in Amsterdam. Zijn thema door al zijn werk is de stedelijkheid, urbanisatie en globalisatie. Tentoonstellingen o.m. in New York, Amsterdam, Ottawa, Copenhagen, Vancouver, Turijn. Nam deel aan Sonsbeek 9 en Johannesburg Biennale.
