Tekeningen heeft Hynckes zelf nooit geëxposeerd, en deel van zijn werk op papier is daarom een tijd lang onbekend gebleven.
Zes jaar na zijn dood , in 1979, wordt in zijn atelier een koffer met tekeningen gevonden waarvan een gedeelte bij kunsthandel E.J. van Wisselingh & Co in Amsterdam terecht komt .
