(Rob de Haan is een uitbundig kunstschilder colorist, autodidact.
Deze Loosdrechtse kunstschilder is geboren in Hilversum op 12 juni 1943, ontwikkelde hij zich al op jeugdigde leeftijd tot een ambachtelijke kunstschilder, in de traditie van de Haagse School. Geworteld in het Gooise landschap vond hij aan het begin van zijn carrière inspiratie in zijn directe omgeving. In de voetsporen van de Larense schilders onstonden zijn schilderijen, waarin de natuur het overheersende thema zou blijven.
Rob de Haan schildert stemmingen, emotie en sfeer, maar het is vooral de spanning die zijn werk zo interessant maakt, en iedere keer opnieuw de kunstminnaar blijft verwonderen
