Multilayered cultural appropriation by Rob Scholte. An embroidery after the famous painting by Pieter de Hooch (circa 1655-1660) that has been mounted upside down by Scholte in the frame and signed and dated (2007) with a marker on the back. In very good condition. Provenance: Rob Scholte Museum.

This work was exhibited during the “Embroidery Show” in Museum de Fundatie in Zwolle in 2016 (see last photo) and is also depicted in the accompanying publication on page 49 (see photos 6-8).
