Salvador Dali - Leo Like an Ox Eating Straw - Sold

Original color lithograph published by Rizzoli in 1967/1969 on cardboard specially made to accommodate the many color impressions, from the impressive edition of the Bible in five volumes, illustrated by Dalì with a suite of 105 color lithographs from the drawings on watercolor and other techniques. The work was dedicated to Dalì in 1963 by Giuseppe Albaretto, a pious man and supporter of the Catholic Church, who hoped to bring his friend closer to God as an artist.
Dalì completed the illustrations in 1967. Their style is rich in both the variety of content and the colors. As Dalì's work is described in the publisher's foreword, these lithographs "configure in a universal and personal way at the same time the dynamic, chromatic vision, rich in symbols and references, that characterizes the relationship between human beings" today it is eternal sense of God." Printed in 12 colors on 300 g Veritable Papier d'Archer card stock. The "Double Plates" come in an original sturdy envelope. The lithographic prints in the "Double Plates" are by Maestro Salvador Dalì and taken from the work The Holy Bible, Old and New Testament, illustrated by the same in 1964 for RCS Libri Spa and printed in the same year in 999 copies per subject.
