De schilder, tekenaar en linosnijder Sebo Detmers (1910) woonde en werkte in Soest en was lid van de Amersfoortse kunstenaarsgroep De Ploegh. Zijn stijl is te omschrijven als romantisch decoratief en heeft vaak het bloemstilleven en het landschap tot onderwerp.“Elk schilderij van mij is geïnspireerd door een bepaalde gedachte en een goed schilderij maak je nooit voor de tweede keer”, vertelde de kunstenaar eens in een intervieuw.
