A color etching by Shoichi Hasegawa, entitled "Mirage".
The work is abstract and is characterized by a dreamy, almost ethereal atmosphere,
reminiscent of an underwater landscape or a misty city.
The dominance of soft blue-green and gray tones creates a serene and enigmatic backdrop. Within this backdrop, more defined, yet still abstract, architectural forms or structures can be seen. These structures appear to float and have a layered, filigree pattern, creating a sense of depth and complexity. The forms are partially transparent, contributing to the "mirage" effect .
The etching showcases Hasegawa's signature style , known for his lyrical-abstract works featuring delicate textures and symbolic layering . The work combines East Asian aesthetics with Western influences, evident in the etching's technique and composition.
