Geboren op Ameland in 1885 ontwikkelde Tames Oud zich in de loop van de jaren tot een virtuoos in de techniek van de hout- en linosnede, die op een volstrekt unieke wijze vorm gaf aan zijn ideeën. Deze "Zandschuit " is een linosnede met een beeldformaat van 16,5 x 11.5 cm, afgedrukt op dun Japans papier. De snede is los gemonteerd op dun karton en vervolgens is het geheel opgenomen in passepartout met achtervel. Er is, zoals eigenlijk altijd bij Tames Oud, sprake van een kleine oplage ( in dit geval 5/12). Het werk is gesigneerd en betiteld met potlood. De conditie is goed.
