Prachtige, unieke, zeldzame kleurenets van Tjeerd Bottema.
Tjeerd Bottema werd op 6 januari 1884 in Langezwaag geboren. Hij woonde en werkte o.a in Heerenveen,Amsterdam,Katwijk a/d Zee en Laren (nh). Schildert,tekent en etst landschappen met vee,duin-en zeegezichten in Nederland en België.
Zeer begaafd kunstenaar. Hij was lid van "de club van 10" uit Laren (n.h.).
Hij kreeg zijn opleiding tekenen bij Rosenbeek te Heerenveen. Verder kreeg hij avondlessen aan de Ambachtschool en daarna de Rijksacademie te Amsterdam.
Bottema behaalde in 1904 de acte M.O. tekenen en verkreeg in 1907 de Prix de Rome. Hij werkte in Italie, Spanje,. Marocco, Frankrijk en Engeland. Hij lithografeerde tevens affiches. De Haagse
Tjeerd Bottema kwam te overlijden op 9 maart 1978. (Heeft vermelding in de S.J. Mak van Waay 1870-1940).
