The peace demonstration of 21 November 1981 was a demonstration against the placement of NATO cruise missiles with a nuclear task in the Netherlands. The demonstration was organised by the Interchurch Peace Council, and fell within the framework of a broader anti-nuclear weapons movement that existed in several Western European countries in the 1980s.
The demonstration consisted of a march through the city centre of Amsterdam followed by a demonstration with speakers on the Museumplein. The demonstration eventually attracted more than 400,000 participants. The logo of the demonstration, an image by political cartoonist Opland of a woman kicking away an atomic missile, became a symbol for all subsequent demonstrations and a popular petition that followed the demonstration.
