Waldy Vastrick - Rooster in landscape; - Sold

Waldy Vastrick was born in 1936 in Wildervank and died in 2018 in Utrecht. Three years after the tragic loss of his lover and muse Ans at the age of 81. He left behind more than 300 paintings, which accentuate his search for existential questions and also form a synthesis of the intense developments he has undergone as a person and artist since the 1950s. He completed the conservatory (organ and piano), the art academy and subsequently opted for a very broad university study combination: art history, mathematics, literature and architecture. He also taught for many years at the Theater Academy in Maastricht and the Dance Academy of Tilburg (theatrical design) and he worked as an architecture critic for the Brabant Press Magazines for many years, and drawing and painting remained his overriding passion.
