Information about the artist: Willem Gustav ('Wim') Worm, born 21-1-1939 in Amsterdam, graphic artist, draftsman and painter. Trained as a graphic artist at the Institute for Applied Arts, the present Gerrit Rietveld Academy (1957-1964). He was a graphics teacher here from 1978 until his retirement. Worm started with graphics with socially critical subjects such as Vietnam, Soweto and Nixon. In his later work, the Bible, mythology, fairy tales and hunts determine the scenes. Over the years, his graphic works have come to resemble paintings more and more due to the many colors and flamboyance. In the mid-eighties, Wim Worm increasingly focused on painting. Just as in his etchings, the nudes, trees and animals depicted in bright colors tumble over each other. In addition to his work as a graphics teacher at the Rietveld Academy, Wim Worm was the manager of the Amsterdam Graphic Studio (AGA) for many years. Handling: The etching can be picked up in Hengelo (ov).
