Willem (Wim) Zwiers (Rotterdam, 17 May 1922 – Amsterdam, 14 November 2019) was a Dutch graphic artist, engraver, draftsman, painter, sculptor, and glass painter; he was a teacher at the academy in Groningen.
In 1948, Zwiers was one of three Dutch graphic artists who participated in the Prix de Rome for graphic art. After graduating from the Christian HBS (Higher Secondary School) in Rotterdam, he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rotterdam from 1940 onwards, graduating in 1944. From 1946 to 1974, he taught graphic techniques at the academy.
In total, he created several hundred bookplates. Around 1992, in addition to his engraved bookplates, he began using the computer to create bookplates and other small-scale graphics. Although he wasn't the first to use computer-based bookplate production, he caused a stir by starting such a new technique at the age of seventy as a renowned copper and wood engraver.
