HIV Ontrafelen veiling: Designer : Tord Boontje (By Moroso): M'AFRIQUE - Shadowy - Vendu

Speciaal voor het goede doel “HIV ontrafelen” hebben diverse toonaangevende hedendaagse kunstenaars uit Gent een werk ter beschikking gesteld voor deze veiling. Tevens nog enkele werken gedoneerd door particuliere verzamelaars.

HIV is nog altijd één van de meest dodelijke ziektes ter wereld. De therapie kan het virus onderdrukken, maar de ziekte is nog steeds niet te genezen. Het onderzoeksteam van Prof. Dr. Linos Vandekerckhove, verbonden aan UZGent en UGent, voert baanbrekend onderzoek naar de genezing van HIV. Via deze veiling kan je ons onderzoek steunen: de opbrengst gaat integraal naar onderzoek ter genezing van HIV.

The Shadowy Chair and Sunny Lounger have shapes that evoke the beach furniture found at the North Sea in Northern Europe in the twenties. They are brought into the modern day through the use of digitally drawn  colour  patterns woven by expert African craftsmen using coloured plastic threads around the steel frame forming the robust shape. Handmade with care in Senegal.

Afhandeling:
Wanneer u de hoogste bieder bent ontvangt u na afloop van de veiling van “HIV ontrafelen” een factuur voor de aangekochte werken. Hierin vindt u de details m.b.t. de betaling. Werken kunnen worden afgehaald in Gent en waar mogelijk ook worden verzonden.




Alle items lopen af op 26 november tussen 21:30u en 22:00u en zijn aangeboden in samenwerking met Kunstveiling.be

De opbrengst van dit werk gaat integraal naar HIV Ontrafelen, een fonds die onderzoek naar HIV genezing ondersteunt aan de Universiteit Gent. 

Tord Boontje collaborates with  many companies and clients, including   Alexander McQueen, Artecnica, Authentics, British Airways,   Kvadrat, Moss   and Swarovski.  Boontje has been acknowledged   with many awards including Elle Decoration UK Designer of the Year in  2003 and Woonbeurs Dutch Designer of the Year in 2005             

Moroso has been working in close collaboration with some of the world’s most talented designers to produce luxury sofas and seating since  1952. Today the company is headed by the second generation of the Moroso family- Roberto, the CEO, and Patrizia, the Art Director,- and is an example of how a small  Italian   artisan-owner    company has evolved since it was run until the nineties by Agostino Moroso. The company has always been open to new ideas, from its origins in post-war Italy where there was a culture of ‘doing things and doing them well’, Moroso has been farsighted, daring and certain of the advantage of combining craftsmanship and tailoring with industrial processing techniques to create unique products and by drawing on the worlds of industrial design, contemporary art and fashion.
