Holger Bäckström and Bo Ljungberg formed Beck & Jung in 1965. The two childhood friends where among the first to combine mathematics and design, aided by computer-automation. Geometric design with the use of computers as drawing media to achieve perfect precision.The interest for complex geometric forms is visible in all of their work in that experimental period.
The Ultima 15 ashtray is a product of those experiments. It can easily accommodate cigars, cigarettes, etc… The shape is slightly reminiscent of castle battlements. So simple yet so complex; most certainly one of the most memorable. A great centrepiece for any table. (Source 1st. Dibs)
