Marion ASKJAER-Veld (Strib 1943)
Marion Askjaer Veld married a Dutch man and moved to Arnhem in 1964. She attended various courses, including Dutch and Art History, before she started making ceramics in 1971. The works she produced seem to come from a mythical and symbolic world. They are suggestive images that show the relationship between humans and animals. This often happens in the form of human hands clasping an animal. Completely different are the Asian heads she produces after 1985. These radiate a strong power through their delicate facial expressions. In addition to being a ceramist, Akjaer Veld was also a poet.
