Artist
Joadoor is the pseudonym for Ger Doornink, who lives in Amsterdam. He was trained as a graphic designer at the Academy of Visual Arts in Arnhem. He traveled all over the world and became proficient in various facets of the visual arts. For example, the artist visited many world cities: Hong Kong, Seoul, Taipei and Singapore. In Tokyo he focused on photography. There he also developed the 'air-brush' technique, with which he acquired world fame under the pseudonym Gerry The Cat.
Back in Europe, Ger-Louis Doornink settled in Milan as a designer/illustrator and photographer. Armed with a suitcase full of experiences, he worked for almost all the famous fashion magazines and advertising agencies. However, the modern, dynamic life in Milan could not disguise the romanticism of 'old Italy'. Rome, Florence, Venice and the beautiful hinterland seduced him to the beauty and magic of painting. Like Italy, ancient Egypt, classical Greek culture and Asia are a source of inspiration for Ger-Louis and his 'partner in crime' Hans Jochem Bakker. Together they are able to create timeless images. Rich in shape and color, reproduced and sold all over the world. Joadoor has become a household name.
