Artists Equity

Based in New York, the New York-based Artists Equity organization grew out of artists' need to be protected from unfair practices, provide insurance, and disseminate information about the arts. The original mission of Artists Equity was therefore to create opportunities for artists. In addition, they wanted to deal with economic issues that affected artists. Not only artists were admitted to the organization, but also business people with whom artists came into contact.
