Ofakim Hadashim

Ofakim Hadashim (New Horizons) was an influential Israeli artist group founded in 1948. They brought modern art to Israel by blending Western styles like abstraction and cubism with local themes and light. Notable members included Joseph Zaritsky, Avigdor Stematsky, and Shimshon Holzman. The group rejected nationalist art and sought a universal visual language. Ofakim Hadashim played a key role in shaping modern Israeli painting.
