Ad van Otterloo - Untitled screen print

Painter Van Otterloo (1951) is versatile. He paints with acrylics, makes screen prints, and also creates objects from painted wood and glass (fusion). In the artist's work, as with many visual artists, the confrontation with the environment plays a major role. That environment, whether temporary or not, is the source from which everything can be drawn. In Van Otterloo's case, temporary sources of inspiration are the travels he made within Europe, to Asia, and to Australia. The culture of the Aboriginal people made a deep impression on him. Van Otterloo trained at the Vrije Academie voor Beeldende Kunst in The Hague. Over the years, he has exhibited at many galleries and institutions both at home and abroad.
